School Council

Road Saftey Video made by the School Council

The School Council are a group of children who have been selected from their classes by the teachers and the children. Two children are chosen from each class. We have a Clerk who does all the photocopying. We write all our own letters and articles in the Village magazine.

We start each year with a trip to the Balmoral restaurant to get to know each other and to start helping each other.

We have lots of projects throughout the year. This year we have made a jewellery collection to recycle old and broken jewellery.

We did Fairtrade stalls after school and at the Easter Fayre. We have organised a clothing collection for the Air Ambulance. We also organise all the recycling in the school.

We have been concerned that outside our school the roads were getting very busy and dangerous. We asked the school students to walk to school every morning in exchange for a raffle ticket. We have raffles every Friday in celebration assembly where people who have walked can win prizes. Sandra Gidley, the Romsey MP came to our school with our governors and police to see the road safety film that we made. We made the film with Stuart and Gary of Cass Productions. We did the music, filming and interviewing and it was so much FUN.

We have worked with the Governors where we asked the children to design a new gate for our school playground. Look out for this over the summer holidays!
